One of Somerset’s Wetherspoons pubs has been put on the market for sale.

The Taunton Coal Orchard was put on the market with a guide price of around £ 450,000.

Potential buyers would gain not only the ground floor which currently houses the Wetherspoons pub chain, but also the first, second and third floors.

The four-story building was constructed in the 1930s and was originally a cinema before becoming one of Taunton’s most visited pubs in recent years.

Not only are there four floors, but there is also a beer terrace which is currently set up to accommodate around 50 people.

The chain, based on Bridge Street, is one of Taunton’s most popular venues and offers a chance to grab cheap pints and meals for the local community.

Although it is marketed, the venue will continue to function as a Wetherspoons pub until a buyer is found, before being taken over by a new business once the sale is completed.

Taunton’s other Wetherspoons, the Perkin Warbeck on East Street, will remain open.

The Charbon Orchard bar

On the ground floor you can find a bar serving on one side with seating for around 176 people on a variety of tables across the room.

There is a washing area, two small storage rooms and a disabled toilet also located on this level.

The first floor is intended for ancillary premises comprising guest toilets, a catering kitchen, a beer cellar, a management office, changing rooms for staff and additional storage.

On the second and third floors there is a separately rented health and fitness club which has two separate gyms with a kitchen and a storage room on the second floor.

The third floor also has changing rooms for men and women and toilets.

The property is marketed by Savills and more information can be found about the location by clicking here.
