The ultimate entertainment home …
This impressive property on an exclusive millionaire’s playground is on the market for £ 5.5million.
Bluff House is a large waterfront home on Sandbanks, an exclusive enclave in Poole Harbor, Dorset, popular with wealthy businessmen and celebrities like Harry Redknapp.
The house has an indoor pool complex, an outdoor hot tub, and a fun locking bar created in the garden.
It also has plenty of private balconies and terraces to enjoy the stunning views of Poole Harbor and easy harbor access for all water sports enthusiasts.
Gavin Williams and his family bought the house in 1997 and have spent incredible Christmas and family celebrations there with up to 130 people over the years.
The house has 6,565 square feet of accommodation over three floors.
Most of the entertainment areas are on the upper floors with a circular living room, dining room, office and master bedroom on the upper ground floor and the kitchen / breakfast room at the top of the house.
On the lower ground floor are the swimming pool, the gym and the sauna, as well as another living room and three bedrooms, two of which have private bathrooms.
Mr Williams, 57, said: “We loved its uniqueness, all the curved walls and glass. Where we come from in the Midlands there was absolutely nothing like it.
âAnd as soon as we saw the harbor view it was an easy decision.
âBluff House has been a wonderful family home for almost 25 years. We raised our three very sturdy boys here, the youngest only one year old and the oldest five when we moved in.
âSunlight streams through the huge expanses of glass providing warmth and absolutely amazing and ever-changing harbor views.
âThe sunsets are just as spectacular, which is why you will often hear this area called Evening Hill.
âOn the left you can see over Sandbanks all the way to Old Harry Rocks and to the right you can see Poole Town Wharf and everything in between.
âHuge Christmas breakfasts for family and friends, summer barbecues on the rooftop terrace and, since the relaxed lockdown last summer, lots of laughs in the new lockdown bar. Those are all excuses. for good entertainment, which is what the house is really made for.
âWith the garden gate opening directly onto Evening Hill, it only takes a few seconds to bring the paddleboards, kayaks or windsurfers into the harbor. We are about 20 feet from the sea.
âAs a boater, the short walk to the marina was wonderful to enjoy long days on the water.
“The house has plenty of entertainment areas. TV pit, cinema, the kitchen with its two roof terraces, there are additional terraces outside the two main suites and another near the living room, all of these spaces take all of their meaning at different times of the day and year.
“The Lockdown Bar has its own entertainment and barbecue area and there is a full leisure spa area with gym, solarium, sauna, indoor pool with swim trainer and an oversized outdoor hot tub.”
Robert Dunford of Tailor Made, who sells the property, said: âIts location, opposite Europe’s largest natural harbor, offers future owners an abundance of water sports, windsurfing, windsurfing, kite surfing and foiling at as well as various marinas and restaurants to enjoy.
“The safe shores of Poole also offer a plethora of award-winning sandy beaches nearby with the Jurassic Coast and New Forest wrapping around the conurbations of Sandbanks and Poole.”
